Evaluation and the Transformational Imperative – This moment for transformation is a response to our dire global emergency to go beyond incremental change for radical innovation and global systems change at multiple levels in society if it is to survive. How can evaluation, a profession in the business of assessment and advising, meet the moment and inform and participate in the transformation? This webinar will explore the potential role evaluation can play in transforming society. It will examine the concept of transformation, and both barriers and enabling practices for evaluation to meet the transformational moment.
Scott G. Chaplowe is an evaluation and strategy specialist with over 24 years’ experience working with civic, public, and private organizations seeking sustainable solutions for social and environmental challenges. Prior jobs include Director of Evidence, Monitoring and Evaluation for the Climate Change portfolio at the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), and Senior Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Advisor with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). Scott’s academic training in Geography, with a focus on cultural and political ecology, informs his focus on complex systems analysis and adaptive evaluation. He has authored publications on and engages in forums at the intersection of evaluation, sustainable development, and transformation, and has provided professional development workshops globally for six evaluation associations (VOPES). Scott serves as a member on the Board of Trustees for the International Evaluation Academy, on the American Evaluation Association’s International Working Group, and is active in several other international evaluation forums and initiatives. https://scottchaplowe.com/
